California requires all commercial buildings over 50,000 square feet to be enrolled in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager
All multifamily buildings over 50,000 square feet are included in this requirement, low-rise and high-rise.
The minimum state mandated requirement is that all buildings over 50,000 square feet are enrolled online in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager.
Many cities have instituted additional requirements above the state mandated level.
Your first official reporting period begins at your 12th month of operations.
g.r.e.g. Consulting will set your project up and connect all the utilities that report data, so at month 12, when it’s time to submit your reporting, all you do is verify and hit “send”.
We’ve found that it is helpful to set up new projects at construction final while we still have easy access to all of the plans, square footage, unit mix, landscape details and meter set ups, needed to enroll in Portfolio Manager.
We can save your asset management team hours, even days of getting this information input a year after your project is leased up.
Benchmarking can provide you with operating data and help you see when equipment needs service or replacement and will help you define your operating costs more clearly. There are many options beyond the state mandated version of benchmarking that will provide your operations team with real time data and energy use.
